What is Pranic Energisation Technique (PET)?

Pranic Energisation Technique is an advanced yogic meditation practice developed at Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (VYASA).

The practice brings together different elements of yoga, including breath awareness, chanting, visualisation and focused awareness.

PET introduces participants to a structured way of turning their attention inward and exploring the relationship between breath, awareness and the body.

  • Focused awareness

It is a practice to be understood and experienced through guided instruction.

Our approach

Why learn PET through Anahat Yoga?

At Anahat Yoga, we believe yoga should not remain limited to theory. It should be understood, practised and explored in a guided way.

Our approach is centred on:

  1. 01Clear explanations of yogic practices.
  2. 02Practical guidance rather than theory alone.
  3. 03Learning through direct participation.
  4. 04Making yoga accessible and relevant to everyday life.

This session offers an opportunity to learn about PET and practise selected elements under the guidance of Dr. Vishvanath Pise.

Background

The research behind PET

Pranic Energisation Technique has its roots in the work of VYASA (Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana), where it was developed as an advanced yogic practice.

PET has also been examined in published research. A 2026 pilot study published in the Indian Journal of Palliative Care, involving 34 cancer-affected participants over four weeks, compared PET with mindful stretching. The researchers reported reductions in fear-of-cancer-recurrence and depression scores in the PET group. The authors also highlighted the need for further research, including larger studies and longer follow-up.
